In case you didn't know, my birthday is probably the most important day of the year, besides Christmas I guess. It was over 2 weeks ago, but I thought I'd share some photos from the day.

My dear roommate Yulia decorated the whole apartment and woke all of us up at 8 AM for a french toast breakfast. We continued the party all day long with movies, manicures, and shopping-my three loves in life.

Then this cute kid took me to Cheesecake Factory. We probably took about ten pictures, and this ended up being the best one. Eh. Oh, but the food and the cheesecake were to die for.

The day after my birthday we went to my sister's house for a little family party. It really doesn't feel like my birthday without my family. My wonderful sister made me stuffed shells, garlic bread, homemade peppermint ice cream, as well as peppermint cheesecake (both my favorite things in the world).

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday such a fun and special day!

Meet the Phippen Family. John and Jill are definitely a couple of my most favorite people on this earth. They've been cheering me on since the first day I started photography. They were one of my very first clients back in 2009. I just looked and those photos and I'm wondering why they ever asked me to take their pictures again...I am so sorry, you guys. You will never know how much I appreciate your support.

John knows how much I love to shoot film, so we decided to go all film on this shoot. I let my cousin borrow my digital camera that day, so there was no going back. I'm always so much more happy with the end result when I shoot film. Shooting film allows me to slow down and focus on composition and exposure. It allows me to really focus on the capturing the right moment instead of taking a million pictures and hoping that one captures the emotions and the personalities of those in the photo. I also love the fact that these are straight out of the camera, almost no photoshop (besides basic color adjustments). It makes my life A LOT easier.

My sister is turning 30 today. To celebrate, we went shopping yesterday at Jen's favorite store in the world: Ross: Dress for Less. We had a blast trying on shoes, grabbing every cute dress from the rack and trying it on, taking turns holding the crying child, and trying on every high heel they had in size 6 (which was like 3 pairs, seriously Ross, seriously!?). There's nothing I love more than shopping, and my sister. Not necessarily in that order...

Yep, this is what I did most of the time. Messed around and watched my mom work.

Once upon a time my mom was in a re-upholstery class in college. For her final she was to refinish a chair. Well, the end of the semester came and she wasn't done with it. Her teacher told her that she'd give her a grade as long as she promised to finish it. Well, that chair sat (unfinished) in our basement for probably 15 years, and in my Grandma's garage for another 10. Me, wanting my mother to be honest in her dealings with her fellow beings, suggested that we refinish the chair together. And that is exactly what we did a couple of weeks ago. We had a little mishap with the paint color on the bottom, so I don't have pictures of the finished product. They will come soon, promise.

Spicy Corn Chowder

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

1 small onion, chopped

1/2 cup diced red bell pepper

1/2 cup diced green bell pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 cup all purpose flour

1 cup canned chicken broth

1 cup milk (do not use low-fat or nonfat)

1 16- to 17-ounce can whole-kernel corn, drained, liquid reserved

Melt butter in heavy large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion, red and green bell peppers, cumin and cayenne and sauté until vegetables are tender, about 8 minutes. Add flour and stir 1 minute. Gradually mix in broth, milk and reserved corn liquid. Bring mixture to boil, whisking until smooth. Mix in corn and stir until corn is just heated through. Ladle soup into bowls.

If you love spicy food, make this. It's pretty dang good.

So today I was sitting in the business building eating my lunch and reading the newspaper and this guy and girl standing by me started talking really loudly, so of course I stopped reading and listened to their conversation. The girl said that she was graduating at the end of summer semester and then she went on to say that she hasn't learned ANYTHING the three years she has been here. The guy said, "Really? Nothing?" she said, "Well, I guess I've learned to BS my way through college". WOW. I don't know about you guys, but I don't think I'm paying $2300 each semester to learn nothing! I think I had that attitude the first couple semesters of college, but that has definitely changed. I'm really grateful for the opportunity to go to school. Yeah, my brother ALWAYS tells me how useless my degree is. And I'll admit it, sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting my money. But then I think about all I've learned, not only about photography, but about myself. It's been an amazing 2 1/2 years, and I'm excited to see what the next 2 years at UVU will bring me!

One of my images from a fashion shoot I did a few months ago is being featured on www.rubysnap.com & in their bakery in SLC. They do a different flavored cookie of the month and they put a picture along with it. Fun, huh?? I'll be honest, I can't wait to get up there to try that cookie, it sounds DELISH! Anyway, it's kinda fun to see my images being used in other places than Facebook. :D

This has nothing to do with anything, but I thought it was kinda funny. Today at the gym I ran 16 minutes straight on the treadmill. I'm really proud of myself! I can't usually get past 8. That's not the funny part, don't laugh. As I was walking out to my car I was thinking about what I think about when I run. I realized I always try and think of the things that make me most mad. And it's usually things that other people have done, mainly the male population. And that's what usually keeps me running! When I realized that I started laughing, as if me running faster or longer is going to make them feel bad about what they've done or make anything better. Does anyone else do this?

Do I have you all convinced that I'm crazy yet?

That's right! She's arrived, finally. My brother called me at work last night to inform me that she had arrived and I definitely squealed with excitement, multiple times. It's surprising I didn't get pulled over on my way to pick it up. I was speeding, quite a bit...Oh and then I was in a hurry because I was supposed to meet someone after work, so I was trying to rip open the box as I was driving. It was sitting in my lap and I was trying to rip the tape with a pencil, probably not the best idea.
Anyway, I may or may not be skipping class today to test this puppy out.

I decided she needs a good name. Any ideas? I'm thinking something like Big Bertha? She's kind of huge and bulky. But I need something more original. Winner gets a prize! I don't know what that prize will be, but it'll be good! :)

And to the rest of you, I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day. Me-I was blowing up balloons all day and having a blast with my co-workers. Probably one of the best days yet at Macey's. One of the greatest quotes I heard today: "I don't want to put THAT much effort into it." We were telling a guy to walk about 2 steps over to a wall to pick a balloon for his wife. What a stud. Oh and another one..."Yeah, I like to spoil my wife". The guy was buying about 10 balloons for his wife. I guess I'm a little shallow, but I'm really hoping and praying that my husband isn't like either of those two guys. No offense or anything. :)

**I'm just going to pretend this is a personal blog for a moment. If you don't care about my personal life, then you probably don't want to continue.

As I was growing up, I never really thought about where I wanted to go to college, or what I wanted to do for a profession. I always thought I'd graduate high school, get married a little while after that and start having babies! But, as we all know, life does not turn out the way you expect it to. And believe me, I am SO grateful for that. Anyway, I've been thinking a lot the past year or so about what I'd like to do with my life, professionally. I have been so focused on that that I think I've totally forgotten what's really most important in life. Photography is so important to me, it's my passion, I LOVE it. I get giddy just thinking about it (I know, I'm cool) and I have so many things that I want to accomplish with it. But lets go back to when I first started falling in love with photography. The moment I decided I wanted to be a professional photographer was the day my parents gave me a used digital SLR. You have to understand something, my family has never been wealthy. We just don't get presents that expensive, EVER. I can't even explain to you how I felt when I opened that present. I saw that grey Nikon box and I choked up. I thought of all that my parents and siblings had sacrificed to buy me that camera and the tears started coming! After I was done opening my presents, my mom took me aside and explained to me that they bought me this camera because it was something I could do as a stay at home mom. THAT is the moment I decided to become a photographer. I realized I could have the both of best worlds. I could be a mommy AND a photographer.
The following years that story kind of faded from my mind. I put those dreams of being a mother into the back of my head. I started focusing more and more on my professional goals, school, and friends. Suddenly, within the past few months, I've become Miss Sass who thinks she doesn't need a man or babies in her life. All she needs is a good job and lots of money! Ok, I'm exaggerating a bit, but it's not super far from the truth. But today I got a letter in the mail from my mommy. She simply bore testimony of family and motherhood, and expressed her love to me. How grateful I am that my mom is righteous enough to listen to the promptings of the spirit. I know God knows exactly what we need to hear and when we need to hear it. I'm so incredibly grateful for that. How lucky we are, as women, to be able to bring children into this world. To love them and care for them.
I know the the time for me to have kids is not now, or anytime in the near future for that matter, but it's still something that's important to think about. You can prepare yourself now. Do everything you can now to prepare yourself so that you may be able to give the best life you possibly can to your children.
Just to be clear: I'm not crazy. And No, I'm not having a baby any time soon. No, I'm not going to get married any time soon. And NO, I would not like to be set up on a blind date. :)

Because this is actually supposed to be a photography blog and not Amy Dixon's personal blog, here are some photos of a few parents that I admire.

2010 was definitely one of the best years of my life. I was so blessed this past year. I was able to travel quite a bit, I finally had the guts to move out of my parent's house, which lead me to meet so many wonderful people and I was able to do well in school as well as work almost full time. I know I couldn't have done any of this without Heavenly Father's help. It was definitely not easy. Yes, 2 weeks in Hawaii is amazing, but the paycheck following that 2 weeks is not. And it doesn't really help things when your car breaks down, and your student loan isn't as much as you thought it was, and when boys are jerks. But those things were "blessings in the skies" as Gloria from Modern Family would say. I'm really grateful for those hardships that made my testimony grow.

I'm so grateful for such a wonderful year and I'm looking forward to another wonderful year!

Meet Tracy. We've known each other for a very, very long time. She used to help me with my geometry homework in 9th grade (thank you!). We used to chat about our crushes, and one time when we were on our way to girl's camp, she shared her story of her first kiss, which had just happened before we got on the bus. I don't know why, but I'll always remember that. Probably because I was a little shocked that Tracy would do such a thing at such a young age. I was so innocent. Haha! Anyway, Tracy has the best laugh in the whole world, it will always make you laugh and she always has a good attitude. I look up to her so much!
I am so grateful for all of my friends who have modeled for me this semester! I know it's fun to get all dolled up and get some cute pictures taken, but it helps me more than you know.

I found this at the Hula Seventy blog a while ago. I think it's hilarious, but so true.

I know I'm just barely over 17 myself, but I really do wish I would have realized these things when I was younger.

P.S. I took out some of the ones that didn't apply...

things I'd like to tell my 17 year-old self

1. you are not fat.

2. he is not The One. it will seem like he is, but he is not.

3. you do not have to smile for every single picture.

4. you are not going to believe this but you do not know everything. also, your parents are right. about so many things.

5. your studio art class will spend a whole quarter on photography. PAY BETTER ATTENTION.

6. that little 110 camera you love so much is a total piece of crap. people call it a toy camera now but really, it's crap. beg your parents to buy you an old used 35mm SLR. then shoot roll after roll after roll of film. and throw out the flash.

7. remember how good it feels to do a back handspring. in a few years, that skill will be long gone.

8. diet coke is not the answer.

9. do not listen to the people who tell you you cannot be a dancer because you don't have enough training, didn't start early enough and don't have the right body. more specifically, do not listen to that teacher who tells you to eat only saltine crackers for a week in order to drop a few pounds. in a few years, you'll discover modern dance and your world will crack wide open. suddenly, ballet will seem like a stupid idea and everything else will make sense. you will go on to do things you were told you could not do. and it will feel spectacular.

10. you know that awesome color photobooth at the kmart two minutes from your house? visit it regularly.

12. wear anything you want. because you can.

13. enjoy the widespread availability of polaroid film.

14. keep writing.

16. take that typing class.

17. and when your mom offers to teach you how to sew, do not blow her off.

19. you are totally right about vintage clothing. stock up now before thrift stores everywhere are sucked dry by the masses.

20. make grandma corrona teach you how to make her bread. she will tell you it's nothing, that it's just ordinary bread but you will eventually come to realize that it is, in fact, the best bread in the world.

21. take bigger risks. because I promise, you really will regret it if you don't.

22. boys are generally not worth it.

23. you don't really need all that black eyeliner. really.

24. and while we're on the subject, beware of all cosmetic counter makeovers.

27. your dad is totally right about that whole time thing. twenty years, gone. just like that.

28. seriously, you are not fat.

I would say probably 50% of the day I daydream about traveling to foreign places. When I'm bored at work, I open up google earth and look at pictures of all the places I'd like to go someday. I'm cool like that. Anyway, here's my list:

I'm going to be completely honest for a second. Life has kinda hasn't been so fun since I got back from Hawaii. I mean, what do you expect after a week and a half in paradise? Anyway, last week was not fun. It may have been because my car broke and I have to buy a new one, or maybe it was because I realized how poor I was, or maybe it was because I realized how poor am and I still have to pay for my Brazil ticket, OR it could have been because of the whole male species. Oh, I could whine for hours, but I won't, don't worry. Anyway, last Wednesday I got a call from my older sister, Jen. This is how I answered the phone, "Do you have a baby yet?!". I was totally kidding because I knew she wasn't planning on having the baby until the week after. So I was way surprised when she said yes. Words cannot express how happy I felt at that moment. Everything that had been going on the past few days all the sudden seemed really insignificant. I just didn't care that I had no money or any form of transportation. It honestly didn't matter. Okay, that's false. The whole transportation thing became an issue as soon as I was ready to go up to SLC to see the baby. But, thanks to my awesome friends Jeff & Emma, I was able to go up to SLC that night to see my niece as well as my parents and my little sister. It was so amazing to be able to hold my baby niece, Ava, literally hours after she was born.
I'm so grateful for my family & friends who make life so incredible!

Well kids, the time has come for me to learn all about studio lighting. I recently started my Photographic Lighting course at UVU and I'm seriously diggin' it. Seriously.
Tonight Chalise and I went to my brother & sister in law's house to do some shots in the basement (thankyouverymuch Brad & Erica!). We did this shoot in less than 45 min! Ohh ya.

My latest purchase, Nerd glasses, don't be surprised to see me sportin those things around. I'm lovin 'em!

You know that song by Trace Adkins? If you haven't listened to it, you should. I'm not really a country person anymore, but I love the lyrics to that song. That song reminds me to live in the moment and be grateful for what I have right now.
Something that I've been thinking a lot about is my family moving to Logan. It's happening in less than a month! (I may or may not be crying at the thought of that). I've never really lived away from my parents, and I've spent pretty much my whole life in the same house, so needless to say, I'm going to miss my parents and my house, and maybe my little sisters...Don't worry though, they're keeping the house. Brad and Erica will be taking good care of it.
But here are some things I'm really going to miss:
*Driving to my house at 11PM and going for a walk around our neighborhood with my mom, just because I feel like it.
*Baking desserts in our large kitchen. Ok, it's not so large, but compared to my kitchen in my apartment, it's ginormous!
*The super comfy couches.
*Coming home for Sunday dinners.
*Sitting in the living room with the fam, talking about pointless things, making fun of each other, and laughing until we cry.
*Opening Megan's bedroom door and seeing her pray. It happens every single time.
*Delicious home cooked meals.
*My bedroom.
*Being able to ask my dad for a father's blessing whenever.
*The painting of the last supper in our kitchen.
*Sunday pictures in our front yard.
*Sliding down the stairs in sleeping bags.
*Coming home to use the washer and dryer whenever I feel like it.
*My IKEA dresser.
*Girls parties with my mom and sisters.
*Sitting on the heat vents in the winter time.
*Opening the freezer and having frozen things fall on me.
*The piano, even though I don't really play. It's fun to pretend sometimes.
*Listening to my dad mumble to himself while working in his shop.
*Our neighbors, particularly Emily.
*My mother BLASTING BYU devotional every day at 11 AM while she's taking a shower.
*Free rent...
*Using my parent's car when mine is in the shop...
*My dad seeing I'm in a bad mood and asking about my love life. Ok, that only happened once, and I know for a fact it won't ever happen again.
*The smell of my mom's bread.
*The weird casseroles my mom bakes. I won't really miss the actual casseroles, but I'll miss making fun of them.
*Coming home at 2 in the morning and seeing that my mom has fallen asleep waiting for me to come home. Best part: not getting in trouble for it.

I guess it's time for me to really grow up. Boooh.

Grandpa Dixon

This pretty much describes my grandpa! You push that little red button and he goes "aahhhaaachhoooo!" and the grandma says, "bless you!". (Grandpa sneezes REALLY loud)

This was something that my grandpa worked on during WWII. It was top secret back then, how cool is that?

Grandpa was a physics professor at BYU.

Before he retired from BYU, he started his own violin shop, which is now mostly run by my dad.

This is the violin Grandpa made.

Grandpa has struggled with his hearing for the past few years. These are all the hearing aids and other devices he has used to help with communication.

Grandpa has always had a love for electronics and amateur radio. Here he is using morse code to communicate with people all over the world.

I'm really grateful I was able to have this experience to capture a bit of my grandpa's life and personality. It was such a fun experience. He's been a huge influence in my life as well as many others. I'm so blessed to come from such a great family!

Every Sunday I have this serious problem, at about 12:30 PM I begin the adventure of finding what to wear to church. This adventure goes for AT LEAST a half hour, and always makes me late to church. It consists of me trying on about 5 different outfits and me saying "Oh Brother!" after every outfit I've tried on. I realize this is extremely ridiculous, I mean, come on! the cute, single boys in my ward are supposed to like me for who I am, not what I wear, right? HA.HA. Ya right. But really, how can I not worry about what I wear to church when I feel like a hunk of meat walking into a room full drooling dogs whenever I walk into my church building?

Anyway...see for yourself what this madness looks like!

Here's another confession I have...I think the picture speaks for itself. But the story behind this makes me laugh. I was sitting in sunday school today when I look down and see this...

I just laughed. The working out part is going pretty well, but the dieting part isn't going so well.

This photo illustrates how I feel about these things--
1. THIS BOOK! All my life, I have been that kind of person that thinks art it for crazy people. I could never figure out meaning in any piece of art (I still can't sometimes). When I first started getting into photography, I thought that I could just forget about that part about inspiration & all that jazz. After all, I just wanted to take pretty pictures of people's faces, why would you need inspiration in that? Anyway, this semester has totally changed me. My teacher for my Photo 3 class made us buy 4 books at the beginning of the semester. This book, called Within the Frame, is the we're reading right now. I am absolutely amazed at the talent of this guy. Not only is he an amazing photographer, he's also an amazing writer. He's made things become so clear to me, and he's also taught me the importance of gaining your own vision, and creating images that actually speak to people. I'm in love with this book! If you are at all interested in photography, BUY IT! You won't regret it for a second.
2. Black Jelly Beans! Oh man, I absolutely LOVE black jelly beans. I know nobody else does, but I guess that leaves more for me, right? The only bad thing about them is they leave my mouth black, so if I eat more than 3, I have to stay inside until my mouth turns normal again.
3. LOST. I can't stop watching this show. I'm addicted. I've made many others at work addicted to it as well.
4. The gym! I've had a Gold's pass for the last two weeks and I am loving it! In the past two weeks I have gone 6 times, aren't you proud?? I'm still super weak and wussy, but I'm workin on it!
5. The grades I'm getting on my tests at school. Art History test #1-96%, Astronomy test #'s 1&2-86% and 88% (I realize that's not that good, but I'm amazed I got that high because pretty much all I do in that class is sleep).
6. Zumba--okay STOP. I'm not sure if I like this yet or not. I went once last week and sucked pretty bad at it. But it would be fun if I could dance at all!

This photo illustrates how I feel about these things (as well as Simon Cowell himself)--
1. My car...I'm ready to blow it up myself. It was due for safety and emissions last month, but I still haven't been able to get the check engine light to turn off. My neighbor fixed it, but it still won't go off! What do I do?!
2. Sore muscles after the gym...sometimes it gets so bad that I start walking like an old lady. Luckily, it hasn't been bad at all this week.
3. Waking up at 6:20 am...I'm sick of it. Need I say more?
4. Post processing photos...I've come to the conclusion that the less editing, the better. I look back at some of my photos recently and I want to puke. I hate fake looking processing (most of the time). That's why I want to shoot film, the colors are absolutely fabulous!
5. My stupid sweet tooth. You know how people say when you work out, you want to eat healthier? That doesn't apply to me. I'm eating just as much (if not more) candy than before I started working out.

That's about it for this week! I'm going to take a nap...

Last year I took a photo 2 class, which was all black and white film photography. Before this class I didn't have really any interest in film photography. I hated the grain in the photos. Needless to say, my views on film have changed. I'm absolutely amazed by the results of film. I've come to love the grain and absolutely love the colors. All of these photos were either taken with Fujifilm cheapo film from Wal Mart, or Ilford Delta 400, all on my dad's old Pentax Super ME with a 50mm 1.8 lens, ALL manual focus (pain in the rear end). Hopefully someday I will be able to attend one of THESE someday so improve my film photography skills. I just need to rake up $5000...

Anyhoo, I love film. You definitely can't get the same kind of results with digital, no matter how much you do with Photoshop.

...and Happy Halloween? I wanted to post these forever ago but haven't had any time. The top is my chunk of a nephew, Jasher, and 2nd is Fairy Princess Natalie. Both stinkin adorable!
And since it is Thanksgiving, I just want to say how grateful I am for my family. Especially my niece and nephew. They bring me such joy. I'm also thankful for the gospel, friends, work, school (even though I complain about it way to much), a warm bed, clothes, shoes, make up (you wouldn't want to see me without it, trust me), my car, computer, CAMERA (and all things photography related), and my life! I'm so blessed, I couldn't ask for better.

I like to look at a lot of wedding photography, and I've seen some pretty ugly dresses...But I find this very interesting because this designer (Monique Lhuillier) has made some of the most gorgeous dresses I've ever seen. How does this happen...?

first graphic design project

This is my first project in my graphic design class. I'm totally loving that class-even though it's at 8 in the morning. We work on Illustrator all day, we have no reading or homework, AND we have no tests! Just projects-which are a piece of cake! I wish all college classes were like this!!
Anyway, this was the first project. We were to create a poster for an event. I decided a Mary Poppins play would be fun to work with, so that's what I chose! It wasn't going to be this colorful, but I decided to just go all out with the color. After all, it is supposed to be eye catching, right?

Sunday Nights

This is what a typical Sunday night is like at the Dixon home. We sit around on the couch and just chat and laugh our heads off. I'm especially grateful for Sunday nights now that school has started. It seems like it's the only time I get to relax.
Anyway, the real point to this story is that I love my parents, and I'm glad they love each other. They're great examples to me. They have taught me so much, and have encouraged me to do my best at all times. Thanks Mom & Dad! I love you so much!

This post will be very, very random. But it will fill you all in on my latest adventures. This is my cousin's son Jackson. I love him to death. Two years ago, I went down to New Orleans for 3 weeks to stay with my cousin Shannon and her 5 kids. It was such a fun experience. Anyway, they moved to Arizona a few months ago and then found out they had to move again! So I went down with my aunt, my cousin Ashley, & her daughter this past week to help her pack up & watch the children. We went swimming every day and had such a blast! There is just something hilarious about kids in swimming goggles. I love it! Sadly enough, 4 of the kids were better swimmers than I'll ever be.
This is Jackson's twin Peyton. She is quite the character. I love her to death.
This is my cousin Ashley's daughter, Kailey, and Shannon's newest baby, Luke. Two very adorable kids.
This is where it gets random...I love this picture of Lisa. Sometimes us sisters like to take pictures of each other in the front yard. This is what comes from those little photoshoots in the yard.
We went to the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point a couple weeks ago with Natalie. I love these flowers! They're so beautiful. I believe their called Lotus. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I know hardly anyone ever reads this, but I will post about what's going on in my life anyway. Right now, this very second, I am sitting at work. Yes, I still work at Maceys. I work in the photo lab though. My grandpa would say that I'm moving up in the world. I print pictures, play on photoshop, facebook, blow up balloons, etc. I love it!
Yesterday was the last day of my Photo 2 class at UVU. I've never been so sad about the last day of school, EVER. It was the best class of all time. I met lots of new friends and everyone was so nice. My teacher is an amazing photographer and a really nice teacher. If you ever have the chance-you should take from him. The class taught me a ton, not only about film photography, but also digital photography. It's pathetic to say, but I will miss it! Hopefully my classes in the fall will be just as good.
Most exciting thing that happened to me lately is my first trip to California! Such a blast! I went with Kara Hill, (the girl I teach primary with) and her sister Katelyn. We stayed with her grandparents in Chino Hills, a city about 30 minutes from Disneyland. We spent two days at 4 different beaches, the 3rd day in Disneyland and the last day in Hollywood. The beach was superb! I got a little sun, not much. I also went boogy boarding. I was a little terrified to go out way far in the ocean because I can't swim, but I got over it. Disneyland was the best! I thought it was going to be kind of lame, but the rides were awesome! I loved Space Mountain the best. I can't wait until my parents finally decide to take us to Disneyland. The worst part about Disneyland was the $6.50 I paid for A SLICE of pizza. Good crap! Ridiculous. I also loved Splash Mountain, Matterhorn, Buzz Lightyear, and Thunder Mountain. I've decided I love roller coasters. Hollywood was crazy. There were so many psycho people there! People sit on the sidewalks dressed up as movie characters and then ask for money when you try to take a picture of them. I think they'd attack you if you took a picture of them and didn't give them money. It was frightning. It was fun to see the Hollywood sign, even if it did take a couple hours to find. The trip was a blast, I hope to go back soon!This crazy thought she was Lucille Ball...

Sometimes (every day) I think to myself, "why in the heck do I still work at Maceys!? I'm such a pathetic loser!". But I'm really quite blessed to have a job I love and that also goes along with my major. We have Adobe Photoshop installed on all of our computers here at work, so whenever it gets slow I am free to play around and create whatever I'd like! We're starting to advertise that we do baby announcements, so this is what I've come up with for our example book. It's so fun! Therefore, I love my job. I still hate it when people ask me if I STILL work at Maceys though.
